Challenge Complete
The Swindon Cycle Challenge has now ended. For more information about cycling in Swindon, please visit www.swindon.gov.uk/cycling.
The Swindon Cycle Challenge ran from 7 June to 27 June 2010. 665 people from 49 organisations took part, logging an incredible 48,302 miles via 3,821 trips. The Challenge inspired 65 new cyclists to take to their bikes. 27% of registrants were non-cyclists (cycling less than once a month) and 26% were occasional cyclists (cycling 1-4 times a month).
Three months after the 2010 Challenge:
- 44% of non-cyclists reported cycling at least once a week
- 25% of occasional cyclists reported cycling at least two days a week
- 11% of participants who reported travelling to work by car at baseline had switched to cycling to work as their main mode of transport

Happy cycling!
I think the Challenge was a great idea and carried out well. It made me think about my bike and cycling in general more. Non-Cyclist
The Cycle Challenge website has been a great motivation as it is satisfying to see the total build. Non-Cyclist
